WHO'S YOUR MONEY ON?

WHO'S YOUR MONEY ON?

The Pwllheli round of the P1 SuperStock Championship is part of a sporting big weekend with the Formula One British Grand Prix and the World Cup Final on Sunday.

We find out from the drivers and navigators in rainy Pwllheli who their tip for the top is this Sunday.

Martin Wild, driver for Flying Sparks

Lewis Hamilton: “I think it will be a McLaren one-two with Lewis just ahead of Jenson.”

Spain:
“Spain have played really well throughout the tournament and I can’t see the Dutch keeping them away from their first World Cup win.”

John Wilson, driver for Premier Cru

Lewis Hamilton: “It will be a close fight between Lewis and Jenson. They are very evenly matched but I think that when it comes to that last qualifying lap, I think Lewis will just snatch it.”

Spain:
“They have so much talent, skill and determination and I do not think Holland will be able to match them.”

Martin Colligan, driver for Team Fox

“To be honest, I do not really follow Formula One that closely. My wife loves the Grand Prix though, she would be good at making a prediction.”

Spain:
“I would like to see the Netherlands win but Spain have solidly been the best. Both teams have played well throughout so it well be a good game.”

David Hobson, driver for GSS Mermaid

Sebastian Vettel: “Lewis and Jenson will go well but the Red Bulls have been the fastest throughout the season and Vettel is a special driver.”

Spain:
“Everyone is going for Spain so I am going to support the underdogs, Holland.”

Sara Cureton, navigator for Team Eclipse

“Everyone’s talking about Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton but I think it could be a Red Bull – not sure which one though.”

“I haven’t been following the football at all, I don’t even know who’s playing on Sunday.”

Rupert Pugh, driver for Heights of Abraham

Jenson Button: “My money would be on Jenson to win this weekend. He is really racing with his head this season and as fantastic as Lewis is, I think Jenson will come out on top.”

Holland:
“The Dutch have won all their games and might well cause an upset to the favourites.”

Stuart Cureton, driver for Team Shark

Jenson Button: “Jenson has really stepped his game up over the past couple of seasons and the British grand prix is the one he is missing from his collection and he can definitely do it.”

Spain:
“Definitely Spain. They have such strength and depth throughout the squad and so many world class players that it’s hard to bet against them.”

Ian Brusby, driver for RoughCut Racing

Lewis Hamilton: “I think he is cooler under pressure than a lot of the other drivers and is more flexible to drive around problems when they arise. Jenson seems to need a perfect cra to win. I can see a McLaren one-two happening.”

Spain:
“They have been the best team out there for a while – they won the European Championships and I think they will add the World Cup to that.”

Our rain soaked experts are predicting Lewis Hamilton on the top step of the podium at Silverstone and a McLaren one-two for the Woking-based team. Meanwhile in Soccer City, they have Spain down to put that long-awaited first World Cup star on their shirt.

Only time will tell…
